Here is another idea to increase your odds of getting an animal - even if only a little.

The moose and deer hunts in WMU 28, I believe, overlap. You can plan your hunt for the deer season and with a valid moose tag, you can always get a calf (be 100% certain) if one happens to wander past your stand.

I could be wrong, but I don't think deer are too common in the area. I'm planning on moose hunting with a bear tag in case I come across a nice black bear.
