Newb question, Browning HP 9mm.

My Browning HP seems to lock forward, preventing cycling the action if the half-#### safety is on.

Is this normal?

Do you mean it won't fire or you can't pull the slide to the rear?

It won't fire at half ####, you have to have the hammer all the way back as it is not a double action.

The slide should pull to the rear at half #### unless you have the safety engaged.

"...if the half-#### safety is on..." Pull harder. And don't rely on the half #### as the only safety.

The wing safety is off. Yet if the half-#### is on, while the magazine is removed the slide will not go back, hence I can't throw a round out of the chamber. It all seems quite odd. I'll post a video momentarily.

It is very peculiar. It seems to be working now.
Perhaps it's best that a gunsmith take a look at it.

If you're new with pistols (or at least this type) a visit to a gunsmith should answer your questions. If it works sometimes and not others then definitely get it looked at.
