Newb Questions on ammo

Two questions, or one question and a comment.

How come the ammo places I check out online seem to have little inventory? Or so much stuff sold out? I've checked out a few places and noticed this, it's not unique. For example (I'm not pointing this out at a criticism, just an example) when I check your site for 410 ammo, 3 of the six items are out of stock. I see this a lot - and I see it in my local gun shop as well. yet I was at a canadian tire today and they had racks of this stuff.

Second, more of a comment I guess, none of the online ammo sources have a beginners guide on how to pick ammo. I need one - at your store. See, I have this pointy stick that I need to buy ammo to make it go bang. And that's all I got. No idea of anything else - I need guidance when I'm on your site (and others, again, not seeking to criticize) on what my options are. I have no idea what the different shot sizes are, or what to use for what.

I've considered buying ammo online and looked at a couple stores, but so far I don't have enough direction to pull the trigger. I have to go into a store and bother the clerk to tell me what to buy.

ammo is being sold like the world is going to end on dec 21.lol guns and ammo dont stay on shelves long if the price is right. ammo mostly comes from the states, and their going even crazier than us on the buying end. as for your comment, pick what you are going to be doing with your gun. say target shooting..... then google good plinking ammo for your caliber. same for hunting.

1. Stuff sells out, because it does, no mystery there - it can take a while to replace, and usually people who have had to wait "stock up" to avoid running out, experienced shooters/shoppers.

2. You have to do some of your own leg work, most of the online retailers are extremely busy just keeping up with orders so it's not reasonable to expect them to educate you on your choice of ammo. SFRC does provide helpful descriptions of the ammo they sell, if that's insufficient just hit the web and do your homework.
