Hey Nutz

Looking at reloading for one purpose: 303 brit. Got dies and other tools and lotta brass from my uncle. Yes i have a manual.

Only thing i dont have is a press! Not thinking high volume so single stage, any good place to get a used basic one? Thanks

The rcbs rockchucker is very good. Spend a little now and have it for longer then you are alive. I got a used Lyman, very good for my use. I am also starting to reload 303 brit. Short case life is to be expected from what I hear.

Loaded for 30 plus years on a Rockchucker and still do.

If you want to have the best get a Redding T7.
You will not regret buying a T7 several years from now. Redding makes quality.

If you're budget minded you may want to consider the new Lee APP. I have one and it's quite impressive. It's packed with useful features and among many other things would be able to resize 303 Britt no problem. It would make for a handy second press down the road for brass prep should you get into more volume reloading on a progressive press as well.

Higginsons Powders has them for $110 and reasonable shipping rates.

Lots of good advice about specific presses. Several will do what you need. My only additional comment is to get more press than you need to do the minimum you want. A press is a very important tool, and the best presses, like all good tools, will make the job easier and more precise. Spend more than you want to on a press, and it will never seem like wasted money. Good presses last longer than their owners, so a used one is likely a very good buy. I too use a Rockchucker with complete satisfaction.

In general it seems reloading press' that fail are few and far between including the cheapest of the cheap. Online searchers reveal even C presses aren't prone to breakage.

Given the massive number of people on the net there's really only a few instances of press' reported as being broken. Even then you have to wonder if abuse played a role. If I can count the number of broken press pics on two hands out of all the internet I'd say paying double or anything extra for a reloading press so it lasts isn't necessary.

Some are nicer to operate and do work better. I have a Dillon progressive as well because it just works better than the lee.
