Newb sks cleaning question

Hey All,

I always clean my sks after each shoot, my question is regarding the chrome lining in the barrel. Is it ok to use a wire brush/bristles down the barrel, or will that damage the chrome lining?

I dunno how can you get the carbon out without a wire brush.

that chrome lining is tough as nails, scrub away! I just use the factory cleaning kits with my SKS and CZ

Use the brush supplied with the rifle. It will not break the linning

I'm a machinist by trade, and have worked on chrome plated parts. Believe me,--you will be scrubbing for a century before you make any impression on that chrome whatsoever. You could probably use a stainless steel brush with no ill efects for the rest of your existance.
