This may sound a little stupid, but why are hand loads more accurate then factory ammo?? Also, how much more accurate are they???

They are generally more accurate because the load can be tailored to the individual rifle it is to be used in. Factory ammo has to be made 'looser' in order to workin all the thousands of rifles chambered in that cartridge.

It's the love that makes them more accurate :p :D .
Attention to detail, fine tuning components, custom lengths.....all that makes for better ammo.

My groups shrank noticeably in size going to reloads. From 1" with factory to >1/2" with handloads. (and still shrinking :D )

The cheaper off the shelf ammo like federal classic for example. I got 8 inches difference between boxes. I never buy the stuff but was sighting in a buddies rifle and he supplied the ammo. Couldnt believe it. The better more expensive stuff shoots fine but not as nice as handloads. You fine tune your handloads to every gun.
