In addition to making a contribution to the CPC and attending a rally this upcoming Saturday, I managed to convince my wife that "we" needed to "invest" in democracy and liberty by purchasing a semi-auto rifle...

Tomorrow I will receive my 20" bbl. NR Green Rifle. With any luck I might just get to keep it for more than a couple of months. The big question is: will I get to keep it long enough to assist in gopher population control in the spring?

One question for the group: anyone have any comments (pro or con) regarding the Kyle Precision scope mount for the above rifle?

A solid choice for your first rifle and a great first step to exercising your rights as a free man. Regardless of what happens in government, I suggest you and everyone else refuse to give up your firearms. Personally I won't be giving up anything I purchased, nor will I hand over my freedoms to those intent on taking it.

Hi

I have a 1 in 7 Classic Green.

So far the best factory ammo for it is GP90. Some of the European SS109 loadings shoot good also, but unfortunatly only have a small lot of it.

Sierra and Lapua 77grn match bullets work well in reloads, so do Sierra's 65grn SBT gamekings.

I would not bother to buy any north american made 55grn FMJ factory ammo unless you find it dirt cheap. It does not shoot great groups for the $450/$500 a 1000 rounds it costs. Better to buy 1000 GP90 rounds from shooter's edge.

x2 That GP90 is sweet. Personally I've shot about 1000 rnds through my
Swiss Arms and the groupings are hands down better then with anythig I can buy on the local gun store shelf.

How does the SA treat brass? I'm probably going to buy a 1000 rounds of factory ammo and collect the brass and take up reloading in the spring. I've heard the SA mangles the cases... Any truth to that?

anyone know where i could find a New classic green swiss arms? TSE is out and the on listed on P&D site is sold. Im waiting to hear from wolverine.

I bought Bauer steel flat-top AR15 scope rings for my Swiss Black Rifle and used the standard pic mount. This works rather well..

The Kyle Precision Arms scope base you were asking about is a very well made unit! I have one on my CQB and I am very impressed with it. A little more money than some other brands but worth it in my mind!
