hi all!

figured i'd intro myself on here now that i've made a few posts. name's Greg, age 35, never fired a gun other than a cheap-arse BB, nobody in the family has ever really been into guns so i'm kinda blazing a new path! :p buddy at work is helping me get more acquainted with things, and my course ought to happen on the 23/24 of Jan for the NR-PAL, and hopefully within a week or two for the R-PAL.

my other vices are motorbikes, where i started on a 900cc Kawasaki Ninja (and 3 years later, i'm still alive and scratch-free)

my goal is to get a Glock 34 and be really accurate with it.

oh ya, also looking for other mentors who can give me some pointers and let me tag along to the range occasionally!

Welcome to CGN, lots of good folks in the Region. Try to find a club now if you which to get a Glock.....Several to choose from... I'll let you decide, not good to tell someone to joing this one or that one... I do belong to the NCRRA dho!!

:D

question - which club is the best? my closest is RA centre (literally no more than a 5min drive)

also, anyone care to mentor me or permit me to try out their firearms at the range? i'll happily pay for the ammo.

I'd be happy to take you shooting. I haven't shot in a long while (over a month!!) so I intend on going to the range (EOHC) tomorrow afternoon. PM me if interested.

There's no "best" club. RA's cool 'cause it's indoors and there's usually a good atmosphere, but you can only shoot handguns for two hours Monday evening and Saturday morning.

EOHC's cool 'cause you can shoot when you want as long as it's light out, but it's not very sophisticated infrastructure-wise.

From what I've heard of the Stittsville range, it's really nice, but again, you can't shoot anytime, and I believe it's supervised...

Welcome to the sight.
Hope tp see you around at the RA or EOHC for outdoor fun, once the weather improves.
Cerdan, RA has Wednesday night handgun as well, albeit the precision Slow, Timed and Rapid variety.

.22 slow-fire only though, no? High-level bullseye shooters IIRC.

In any case I don't shoot at the RA much anymore since I've joined EOHC.

While we're on a subject, is there any other publicly accessible in-door range in Ottawa besides RA Center?
