Newbie in Calgary

Howdie all,

I am new to this whole scene. Moved out here from Ottawa about a year ago. Got my PAL a month back and my first rifle a week ago, CZ-455 still with the iron sights.

I do have a few questions.

How does one buy and sell used rifles? and where would one go in Calgary or online to do this?
Where are some good spots to shoot outdoors? I have tried homestead range... any places to the north?

Any others usefull links or shops would be appreciated. I am currently looking to buy/build a larger caliber bolt action. I have done some research and have started to look for pricing and availability only to discover there isn't much out there... (or much I can find).

If you looking to Buy and sell used guns in calgary all the dealers take in trade or pay u from guns from what i understand. Talk to roger from Shooters choice, he can help you out forsure :)

As for ranges we are kinda limited. In the south there is Calgary and district target shooters (an outdoor range) but it has 600 member cap and atm its full. there is 2 ranges in the NE one outdoor and one indoor. although the indoor is limited to .22 rifles and pistols. and from what i heard the outdoor range is being taken over by the CPS, and the members are being kicked out. You can always join the Shooting Edge it has a 50 yard range indoors for rifles, no steel core and no high cal. and two 25 yard pistol ranges.
