Hey, I just got my first rimfire rifle. Haven't shot .22 since I was a kid, and I need some ammo advice. Its an older, but really nice Lakefield Mk II. My thinking is since it's a bolt action, feeding issues will become an almost non-factor, as compared to a semi auto that will require the right amount of energy to cycle a round at the right timing and speed. It will be used to do some small game hunting, but mostly plinking reactive metal targets, and paper targets. So along those lines, I am looking for the cheapest bullet I can buy that will give me reliable target results, relatively clean burning, and not a lot of lead fowling. What I don't want to do is buy 15 different boxes of 50 rounds each and find they aren't for me. Although I wont mind shooting them off
If anyone out there has experience with this rifle, or want's to tell me I am right out to lunch, let me know, but I do need a good place to start.
Thanks!!!
