Alright folks bare with me, this is my first range report style post.
I am new to the m14 and new to handloading, i have about 400 total reloads to my name and 100rds of 762 nato down the pipe of my m14 before today.
The rifle- your standard norc m14, 308win/2007 stamped receiver
only mods so far; op rod quide was tightened and the stock was painted, plinking and hunting rifle out to 200yds
The shooter- i am no way a sniper, bad eye sight and i pretty much just suck

The test@85ish metres
conditions; snowed, rained, was sunny and a little winding over the 70 rnd test
components-hornady 150gr fmjbt bullets, imr 4895 powder, ivi, norma, r.p., and imperial brass, brass was all once fired, full lengthed sized and trimmed, cci 200 primers, crimped, COL=2.800

accuracy factors- like i said i suck, norc sights also suck, apature has play left to right and up to down

lets let the pics speak for themselves

This is what i was comparing my loads to
factory winchester 150gr pp
2009_0128stpattysday0168.jpg

No slam fires, no out of battery, 1 failure to feed because the mag wasn't fully seated.
So there you have it, my #### fell off a little bit when i shot the factory stuff, but recovered after shooting some of my loads,
Conclusion- I am happy with the ivi 40 gr load, but i will work up the other brass in .5 gr loads till i am happy

thanks for caring
matty

those are pretty good groups for 75-ish meters with iron sights. If thats how you suck I wonder how will you shoot when you excell.

Need to get those flier's under control my friend, although, when I shoot a decent three shot group I always stop :p

Looks like a great day at the range to say the least. Thanks for the pics

Good job bud! I suck way more than you do.
BTW, what do you mean by that statement (I mean your reference to "the factory stuff"? :
