Newbie needing a club

So I'm looking for recommendations a club to join.

I'm primarily interested in IPSC/IDPA type shooting, although I'd like to eventually try 3-gun and service conditions, so handgun only ranges are out.

I'm relatively close to Silverdale (15-20 minute drive), but from what I've seen they're mostly set up for bullseye, and have a "no rapid fire" rule, so I'm not sure how you practice for timed competitions there? (Feel free to enlighten me). From my lurking here, EESA seems to run a lot of the type of events I'd be interested in, but they're over 2 hours away. I don't mind driving, but it would mean going out a lot less often.

So far I'm leaning towards Silverdale simply because it's close, I see it's popular here on CGN, and I've stopped by and the club staff seem nice and friendly, but a club more geared towards action shooting might be a better fit. Several clubs websites have Tuesday nights listed as their IPSC practice nights. I'm out of the country most of the week, so a club that has action practice either Wed nights or weekends would be a plus.

Oakville/Cambridge/Brantford probably as far as I'd want to regularly go... rather spend my money on ammo than gas :)

Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated
 
Waterford Gun Club - Hwy 24 just south of Scotland Ontario. Lots of nice guys and easy to join.

Brant Revolver and Rifle Club - Located in Brantford. Nice club but a little more involved becoming a member. I would suggest contacting Brant Shooting Sports (site sponser with link above) and talk to them about coming down on a Friday night.
 
Range Burlington sounds good, especially the 24/7 indoor part. I'm not a cold weather wuss, but why freeze if you don't have to? Only problem there is the membership process requires attendance at each of their league nights. Unfortunately, I could only make 3-4 of the 7 due to my work schedule. I've fired off an email to their new member contact tho to see what options are available there. Any members there feel free to shoot me a PM, would like to know what the best days/times to go check out the club are...
 
Waterloo County Revolver Assoc. is good. A drawback is no rifle shooting unless it is a handgun caliber. We do have IPSC and handgun shotgun matches matches but no IDPA. It is a very active IPSC club and you can shoot 9 AM to sunset everyday except Sunday when you can only start shooting @ noon. The indoor range is 24/7 but shooting must be from the fireing line, no forward movement.

So... You've never heard of it being referred to as the "Burlington Rigle and Refigerator Club" lol...
 
There is IPSC at Silverdale so that no rapid fire rule might only apply to those who do not have a BB or something similar.

but yes EESA does offer all you want.........and more! LOL.

Brant is 9am to 10 pm 7 days a week with key access. Indoor 20 meter range. Contact me for further info if you want.

Rapid fire is permitted on the action ranges if you have an action range card.
