Newbie on SKS, Is this a good deal?

i bought my tapco stock at cabellas in idaho about 3 weeks ago.it was under the 100us limit but i didnt get checked by the us side so i dont know if they would have had a problem with it or not.i dont bring ammo or powder back because i know that would be seized in a us side check.
 
How much is a Russian refurb worth that is in excellent shape with only a forcedmatched stock?

Did you finally get the SKS??? If not, you should try some of the dealers in Quebec and Alberta as it seems a big shipment of Russian Tulas arrived recently. Picked up two today (1953 refurb and 1956 un-issued) and are of better quality than the Chinese, especially around $250. Hope this helps. Good luck!!!
 
A few months ago sks' were worth $175-$200.... with all the russians on the market for around there I'd go lower for a chinese one, but I don't think the prices reflect the value either. (I do like sks', I just don't think they're $250-$300 guns...
