Hi,
I want to order some Wilson mags for my 1911 plus some holster stuff from Brownells.com.
Is this doable? How about the shipping and custom fee?

Anyone has some experiences with this route?

Thank you very much.

Brownells will let you know what you can or cannot order. They are professionals as far as exporting stuff is concerned. They keep up with the export laws.
If a company does not have exporting rights they will know.
Ask for USPS shipping and you might get hit with customs charges but maybe not.

I've ordered mags, grips and other things like cleaning supplies and pistol racks. You have to keep the 'gun part' orders to under $100. You can however order as many 'under $100' gun part orders you want at the same time. Shipping usually about $20/per order. Email Brownells and they will send you a list of the manufactures that can ship internationally. If the manufactures you want are not on the list, they will not ship them. Great company to deal with and they have lots of experience shipping to Canada. So far with me they ship USPS, takes about 15 days at least. Sometimes you get a bill for tax but mostly not. Most importantly no brokerage fee if USPS. Order and enjoy!

They wouldn't send me a slide release because of some regulations. But I've gotten books, barrel bushings, spring kits, grips and a full length guide rod from them with zero problems. All the bills for gun parts were under $100 so I figured not shipping that one piece was a bit strange. But I'd still order again with zero reservations.

Some of the pricing can be 'not advantageous'.

Sig mags.
$30 everywhere in the U.S, $40+ at Brownells. I think it is because they know they are pricey here. If they were $30 at Brownells I would order a dozen

What other stores ship to Canada?

What I find interesting about Brownells, there were several occasions when I'd order something, total and shipping and all gets calculated and I complete check out, and then I get confirmation email with item prices and total LESS than during checkout and CC gets charged that lesser amount.

When looking at the items on Brownelles there is a little box right beside the item description, if it says "notices" in red it means it is a controlled item and must be under the $100. It may also mean it is not available for export.... That is why you should check the approved manufactures list.
