Newbie question about sheep and goats

Spend as much time on that site as you can and ask every question that pops into your head.
 
In one od Jack O'Connors writings about sheep hunting, he said he would rather hunt sheep with an iron sighted 44-40 and a good binocular, than he would with a fine, scope sighted rifle, and no binocular!
(Just saying what he wrote.)

Great book and the bible for its time...still lots of pertinent info but lots of very outdated info too. I've got a cherished copy but not sure it offers a ton of insight into modern sheep hunting. Loads of way better how to books for the modern sheep hunter out there.

outdoorsmenforum is a great place to learn.....
just don't listen to that "sheephunter" fella too much, he likes to hunt with a modern scope on a traditional muzzle loader! ;)
