Newbie Question....Dies and Seats?

I am looking into ordering the RCBS Supreme Rockchucker Kit. I would like to start reloading for my 22-250, just basic reloads, only fire maybe 300 rounds per year max.
My questions:
- What specific die do I need to order?
- What seat?
- LeBaron's carries bullets, and stocks (.224), what bullet do I order?
- Primers, do I use small rifle, or large rifle, magnum??

Very basic questions but I'd like to order it all from LeBaron's in one shot...and I am not sure what I need besides the kit.

I'd really appreciate your help.
 
First off-Screw LeBaron. Madame Lebaron lapped up every gun control measure to come out.(if I'm not allowed to say that, please delete) Order through Higginson Powders.

I use Lee presses and dies, so not positive about the RCBS presse/dies. but you'll need the standard die set--resizer/deprimer, and bullet seater/crimper. That's barebones. Having a powder thru expansion die as well as a factory crimp die is a good idea once money or whatever is better.
22,250 is large rifle primer. The case is basically a .308 necked to .224
Bullet weight is your call, check a manual, but I've been using 55gr. SP Hornady with good results.
What do you mean "what seat?"

What specific die do I need to order? Depends. If you're reloading for just the one rifle, collet dies will work. Shooting these rounds in other rifles....full length size dies.

What seat? I'm gonna presume by "what seat" you mean what shell holder. With RCBS, I have no idea. I load with Lee as well and the holder comes with the dies. Rather convenient I'd say.

LeBaron's carries bullets, and stocks (.224), what bullet do I order? That depends on your barrel twist rate. The faster the rate, the heavier the bullet you can use accurately.

Primers, do I use small rifle, or large rifle, magnum?? Please read you reloading manual again. Every cartridge listed will have this info available.

You need a #3 shell holder and a set of 22-250 dies. I would suggest a set of full length dies as neck sizing only can be hard to do for a newbie. You can switch to it after you get experience in reloading. Through the dies loading powder???? I never use it as I like to measure and weigh my powder each time. So I use a funnel. Bullets for the gun...I would buy the 55 gr. as it seems standard fare for the gun and range shooting. And large primers are used in this range size of casings.
 
Thanks for the help. I don't have a manual yet, this is something I just dreamed up in the last couple of days.
So the .224 bullets are for 22-250, and you'd recommend 55gr hornady.....that is what I usually shoot.

I am still confused about which exact dies to purchase, maybe I should call RCBS to get exact product #'s, I don't know what any of it means....clueless
 
Never used that part that came with the kit I normally use the hand held priming tool they also make... they look the same as the ones on the lee pro 1000 just keep them clean and free of debrise and you will have no problems.

I use it, and I think it works great. I would recommend it because it's a great starter kit at a great price. I also prime on the press and have had no problems at all. Alot of people here will bash lee products but I find everything is up to par. I find the breach lock bushings to be handy, not having to set dies everytime you change them.

My advise is save a few bucks and buy the lee kit, msg.drew sells them here in the exchange forum. I bought mine from him and he was great to deal with. Quick shipping too!

that only applies to progressives, and a lot of it is poor understanding of how the primer system works- there is NO problem with the hand held units- i have 3 1000 and 1 loadmaster and they all work well provided you KEEP THEM CLEAN and well fed-refil the primer tray when empty, not when the PRIMER TROUGH GETS LOW
