So this is my first. 223 and i notice that a lot of the spent brass is flatened on one side. At first thought it was just the norinco, but looking closer it is also happenin on the federal and winchester. Is this normal?

Thanks

I think its the charging handle, you can swap it for plastic deflector type which will stop this.

the brass is slinged out of a semi auto pretty forcefully and you expect it to remain in perfect condition? i'd understand the question if the brass was actually "beat up" but those are in pretty good shape, load and shoot.
