Afternoon Gentlemen,

I am in the market for a good optic to fit my Browning X-Bolt, after inquiring with friends they recommended getting a 3x9 with a 40-44mm bell on the front.

Looked at a decent Burrell today at Sail for approx. $480 out the door that has a good illumination, but after talking to a few army buddies they recommend going with a Vortex which led me to look at the Vortex Diamondback.

Amazon seems to have the best deal on it.

What are everyone's thoughts on what would be the best deal around/good long term investment?

Looking to hunt and target shoot with it with pretty much 300m being the max distance.

Thanks for your advice in advance. I've bought a few guns on here before but there seems to be an issue now of looking on forums for guns now or messaging or replying with people who are listing them for sale so just looking for advice on what optic to purchase and where would be the best place to buy (Amazon seems to have a pretty good deal).

This is what I am currently thinking of buying https://www.cabelas.ca/product/9335/marlin-336w-lever-action-rifle

You'll no doubt get a lot of advice.
The high end Vortex scopes are good, however I see a lot of mid-range Vortex owners talking about how good the repair service is.
I don't need that
I personally go Leupold or Zeiss on my hunting rifles.
Target, well that's another story.
A 3-9 Leopold off the EE will serve you well.

No matter what you choose to buy, make sure you look through it with your own eyes before you lay your money down. I've looked through some Vortex and the diamondbacks don't suit me at all. I purchased a Zeiss HD5 just two weeks ago on sale for under $800 tax in, and I'm now a believer in German optics.
