Hi guys .... I'm newbie to Reloading But I only have a 30-06 so I wanna Know if there is someone that have a great recipe for Moose hunting on a Tikka T3 30-06 staintless steel Barrel 22¨inches long...

180 Grain bullet of your choice, Stuff a Winchester case with a WLR primer and 60 grains of Reloder22 and if your Tikka likes it, go hunting moose. Regards, Eagleye.

Eagleye's reccomendation is a good one, although 56 grains of a 4350 would likely work well too.

Me, I would go with a 168 grain Barnes TSX over H4350

Adding to Tod's response, I totally agree that the 168-grain Barnes TSX is an outstanding all-around bullet for the .30-06. His load with 4350 is very widely used with that bullet weight, and it works.

Other excellent powders to try would be Varget, IMR 4064, Reloder 19, Reloder 22, H4831SC and IMR 4831, to name a few. All of these powders will give you decent results. (Personally, I like Reloder 22 and H4831sc).

My current choice, that works the best in my rifle, is more exotic, however. I use 64 grains of Vihtavuori N560, and get the best accuracy and velocity with that Barnes bullet (out of my Remington 700). This is the load that I would use for everything.

Im with todbartell on this one. My Ruger 30-06 seems to like 56g of H4350 with the 168 TSX bullets. I've also used AA2520 powder with good results. Cant seem to remember the ammount of the top of my head.

200 grain partition!

I like the 200 gr. nosler partition in my 30-06 sako classic . One of those behind 59 grs. H 4831in a rem. nickle case with a 250 cci mag. primer, goes out my 22 in barrel an honest 2700 fps. sight it in 2 in. high at 100 yards it is zero at 200 and only 8.5 in low at 300. this load as never let me down and is real accurate in my rifle( can pick off empty 12 guage hulls all day long at 100 yards, Not quite as boring as shooting target all day . Done the job on this bull.

What a coincidence! I use the same 200 grain Nosler in my old Swede, and it records 2700 also, and is accurate. Mine is propelled by a similar charge of the old Norma 205, which is very similar in burning rate to the old H4831, but the Norma is denser and maybe a little cleaner burning.

Further to the last post, as many will recall, the old N205 became Norma's MRP, which, in turn is similar (if not identical) to Reloder 22. All of the Reloder powders are made at the same Bofors plant in Sweden that makes the Norma powders, and many people have argued that the Reloder powders are essentially repackaged Norma powders.

Others will note that H4831 and Reloder 22 are very close on the burning rate chart. This is why I mentioned above that Reloder 22 and H4831sc are two of my favourite powders for the .30-06.

I've found Vihtavuori N560 to be quite comparable to these two powders, but so far it has given me better accuracy and higher velocities.
