newbie question - why AR 15 instead of 180B?

The 180B is a decent rifle, but the AR15 is a BETTER rifle. More modular, better designed, more adaptable and it's battle tested and very refined after 40 years of hard use.

You can have ONE rifle and 50 or more uppers in different config to fit any possible need. Try that with a 180B.

The 180B's only certain advantage in Canada is one of classification, but who knows? With a Conservative gov't perhaps the civilian AR15 legislation will get a second look.

The Ar15 is a better rifle though - there's not really any doubt.

I disagree, there are a lot of bolt on goodies coming out every day for the 180B.

you're probably right... but i've read a couple of your posts re. adding railed RAS and folding stock, it just seemed like it was more work than you would need if it was an AR15, HOWEVER as everyone has mentioned the fact that it is non-restricted, is probably worth the extra work

if you go with the 180B - you will not be like everyone else, if you customize it, your rifle will have even more a unique identity.

It might be safe to say no two AR-180Bs are alike. AR-15s are everywhere.

After a while you will get tired of going to the range and want to target the EVIL gopher population and assorted varmints.

Let us know what you decide!

Yes, the RIS I added di involve some gunsmithing. How ever, with the introduction of aftermarket RIS handguards made for the 180B, it's now a simple bolt on mod. Adding a stock is hardly gunsmithing. Sure you have to do some cutting, but an bus full paralyzed, retarded monkeys could use a hack saw.

Fed007 brings up a good point. Any one can build a sweet AR15, but how many people have a rifle like mine? The answer is none (Well almost none).
