When and or how do you get you status changed from a Newbie to ???

it is all to do with post counts. I forget if it is after 30, or maybe 60 you get to be a regular member

100 posts you become CGN regular

Useless posts like the one above, do not count either, as the newbie section posts don't count.

Newbie section, off-topic, and equipment exchange, do not count towards your post count.

If you really want to get your count up, go to the news or firearm politics section, and comment on every article. I stopped going in there a long time ago, as it quadruples the time I spend on the site when I do.
