i'm brand new to reloading , or rather want to be new to it. I have a 22-250 and will soon be purchasing a pistol. It became very clear to me that reloading at some point was going to be added to my past time.
Is there a loader that will do centre fire rifle and pistol, mainly 9mm or .40? I know it would take different dies but i don't have to buy a specific loader for either rifle or pistol do i?
Was looking at a rcbs kit.
 
All reloading presses will do any caliber, unless you get into 50bmg, just need to get the die set and pretty much you are good to go, I picked up the lee breech lock kit, it has just about everything to get you started
 
Most reloading presses take standard 7/8" threaded dies. There are some exceptions like the Dillon Square Deal that has it's own dies, some really really old tools youre not likely to see, and larger 1 1/4" dies for stuff like 50 BMg as mentioned above and .577 Snider etc. Shotguns also use totally different presses and tools.

Something like the Lee Classic Turret kit, a Lee case length gauge to trim your .22-250 and a set of dies for each calibre (no need to trim your auto pistol brass) along with digital calipres, a manual and a bench and bolts and you're set. You can spend anywhere from $25-200 or up to $5000 to get into this hobby, but you don't need to start at the high end of price to make accurate, safe ammo.
