Newbie questions for "those that know"

Hello all

Starting off defensively...I did "search" forums for this info but, to no avail...

NC Star....who knows anything about them? I'm on the hunt for a low$'s pair of scopes and, found quite a few of these on the 'net. Good prices...popped in a shop in K-town and, actually saw/handled said scope...

The model I'm looking at is a 4x-30mm "compact" scope. Kind of cool crosshairs..the have graduations for MOA...

Does anyone have any experience? How would you rate 'em vs. the 20$or less 4x-20mm run of the mill C.T. or W.mart cheapies?
