Newbie Redding Bushing dies - update with another question.

Couple a options, a Redding full length bushing die, or a shim between the case head and the shellholder...make the shim yourself, should look like a washer with the same OD as the case head and hollow in the middle to allow the spent primer to fall through. You can do this after you have filed the shell holder down and may be able to gain another .010" or so..
 
On the cases I got to chamber the sharpie still indicates a very light contact at the junction where the shoulder meets the case body. These cases are hard to chamber but I know it does not take much to feel resistance at the bolt.

I'm thinking I need to order a go gauge, try factory ammo and probably, as suggested get a full length sizing die. Perhaps even a small base die.

I'l try a shim with the next shell holder. I did not think of that.

I am not seeing indication that the cases are rubbing on the sides of the chamber. My feeling is that this body die is just not pushing the shoulder back quite enough. However after taking 30 thou off the shell holder and still not chambering I am a bit confused/concerned.

Oh and at least 2 of the cases were fired in different rifles.
 
More updates

Sorry guys if this is getting boring.

So today I bought some Hornady ammo which chambers fine.

Then I went back to my resized cases and polished them to see if I could find a contact spot. The cases are lightly scratched on a right to left angle down the length of the shoulder. This time when I peered into the chamber I can just make out a small bump. I think its a burr but its so hard to see it could be a bright spot in the black chamber. Except I have these light scratches on the brass.

My question is should I shoot the Hornady ammo and see if this then chambers and scratches.
Or as I have never fired this rifle should I contact Savage first and tell them about what I think is a tiny burr in the chamber? I'm just not sure this burr is enough to cause chambering problems to be honest.

I did contact Reding today and they said my body die has the same dimensions as the full length die and pushes the shoulder back the same.
 
Yes, I cleaned the chamber a few times with an over sized brush and cleaner. I think that may have helped me see this small high spot. Its likely brighter now than when I first looked.

This really is a very small pimple in the chamber and leaves what is like a light scribe mark down the shoulder of the brass (resized only). I probably would not be concerned if I was not having problems chambering the sized lapua brass.

On one hand I want to get shooting and perhaps get Redding to make a matching die. But on the other if there is a chamber problem then I don't want to go down the wrong path.

Just kind of looking for a second oppinion really.

Have you tried a couple brass fired from YOUR rifle to see how they resize?
I'd trim,and case prep the couple just to make sure you take all thing's into consideration.
Use PLENTY of good lube.
All I've heard of OneShot lube is bad new's.
Only the LEE Reloader press might spring,but it's more likely to just snap under those pressure's. What model LEE are you using?
I have an older turret,been using it for a good 20 year's with no problem's.

my next step is try your suggestion. Shoot a few in my chamber and then try resizing those. I have to wait for my new shell holder first.
 
When I first got into reloading I went out and bought the LEE multipak's for shell holder's.
For both the priming tool and the press's.
Some I've never used, but other's I've loaned out because someone misplaced their's.
Probably the single greatest idea I purchased.
