Hi guys, Ive just started reloading for my 6MM remington 700, was wondering how far down I should seat 58 grain Vmax bullets?

Start with the OAL recomended by Hornady for this bullet.

my book must be old or something.. Hornady doesnt list a 58gr bullet for 6mm in the 4th edition.

I believe they now have the seventh edition out now, so yes yours is getting a bit old. Cartridge oal with 58gr V-max is listed as 2.775" in the 6th edition.

I do have the speer reloading manual, any idea why they list the max velocity of this bullet as 3800?

I had thought the 6mm was capable of 4100 fps. Wierd.
