I Have been reloading for 19 years, it can be a very relaxing hobby that will save you bundles of cash. If I were you, and this is just my opinion, I would start off with an RCBS or LEE starter kit, all you will need after this are dies for the rounds you want to load. These kits pretty much set you up with everything you need to get going. In my opinion, new reloaders should stay with single stage presses, so as to learn und understand all the steps that are going on during the reloading process. I have never moved on to a progressive, but that is just me. You should, if you do everything right, cut your ammo cost by about 75% + or - and notice about a 20% - 25% increase in accuracy in your ammo. Not a bad gig to get something better for cheaper!!! Of course you will be doing hours of work behind the old press, the trade off I guess. If at all possible get a friend who has some experience to help you get started and you will avoid all the rookie mistakes. Also if you are loading 45, you might want to invest a couple of buck on a chamber checker, especially if you are shooting any kind of competitions, as this will ensure that your rounds have not become deformed during the loading process.
