Newbie Shotgun Questions (Search? What Search? ;-)

I'm sorry - I'm sure this has been asked and answered before, but I couldn't find it...

1) would a new " Remington 3" Magnum 870 Express" barrel be compatible with an older (1950~1960) Wingmaster receiver? I understand that a 2.75" receiver can only fire 2.75" shells regardless of the barrel's 3" capacity, but any other info re compatibility would be of interest - e.g. models/dates where things are or are not compatible between the two lines.

2) approximately how much should I expect to pay for parts & smithing, to have a barrel cut down and ghost ring sights (receiver plus front post) installed?

3) suggestions for the Ghost Ring sights would be appreciated, and I'm assuming ~$30.00 for a mag extension but please correct me if that's out of whack

well if your looking for a guy to do all that work then kacey at police ordance is a good guy for that.
he just did some work for member Canuck223 ive seen it and it looks good.

grey rc i berlieve your in ottawa right? well go see jason at gunco for the work his work is the best ive seen and he is VERY reasonable, and hes a rather easy to deal with and friendly guy
