Have used rifles on farms owned by relatives when I was younger - have stayed away from guns till last year when I got my restricted licence and took a hunting course at "York" in Richmond Hill.
Purchased a new shotgun recently - bears in the area (cottage) - four grandkids around from time to time - did not like the helpless feeling as the "Ministry" and OPP are often an hour away - or more.
Now looking to purchase a "varmint" rifle - wolves in the area as are stray wild dogs. A good used 308 would be perfect. Someone local who has one for sale would be real good. Just starting to look.
Oh - 1 more thing - my S-I-L is a Police officer - x - Airborne - I'm guided by his professional advice when it comes to this stuff.
