The mags are incredibly difficult to get 10 rounds in, just follow the advice of other posters on here on how to deal with that. Personally I was told to sand the follower down just a bit but you can decide.
And the slide stop is a pain at first. Best advice I can give you is, remove the magazine and keep hitting the stop up and down, this should help with some tension. Mine is in perfect working condition after doing that for awhile and putting about 350 rounds through the gun.
It is also just preference as to whether you want to use the slide stop or slingshot technique. I use both in all honesty.
