Just got my PAL in the mail, I need some information on what should be my first handgun.

I'm a graduate of Police Foundations in Ottawa. Future LEO!

Thanks for your feedback.

what ever gun you think looks cool and you like. dont let other people pick your gun for you or you wont be happy. get something you like and stick with it. i would check what your budget is then cost of ammo and narrow it down before asking.

I say shoot as many makes and models as you can. Pick the one that feels the best & is in your price range.
Some guns just fit, & feel right for your hand.
Buy a case of ammo, then Practice a lot. Listen to people who have been shooting awhile, they will teach you things.
I felt better about my shooting with a M&P 9 Pro series over a Glock.

^^^ This. Get that itch scratched or it'll just get worse buying someone else's reccos. Guarantee you'll own more than one pistol. Lotta guys are gonna say get a .22LR as your first and I'm gonna say unless you're at a point where you'll love to shoot anything, after your first or second range session with that 22LR, you'll be wishing you'd gotten that centerfire first. The 22LR will be in your stable at some point but, scratch that itch first unless you got deeper pockets and buy two pistols or a pistol and a conversion kit.

Just my 2 pesos.

What's your intended use? Are you looking to shoot for recreation or to build proficiency for future employment?
