hi all, finally got my PAL and am just getting into the whole gun thing. Thinking of buying an SKS first just cause they're so cheap. Anyone ever used them for deer hunting ?

Hi Shawncarl. Welcome to team Gunnutz! You'll find plenty of folks on here who have hunted deer with an SKS. Inside 100 yards it's just fine. Beyond that, not only does bullet energy fade, but accuracy as well. It's a little less powerful than a 30-30.
