I don't want to ask this on the Optics forum . I'd appreciate the opinions of guys who range distant objects , and shoot them . Inclines , declines and flat land . I'm about to buy a new laser rangefinder but the price has to be $1,000.00 or less and it has to range to 1,500 , 1,600 under good conditions . I decided upon the Leica 1600B , until I heard about Newcon .
The Newcon 1800S is several hundred cheaper than the Leica and the 2200SI is about the same price . From youtube and across the web there isn't much mentioned about Newcon and pretty much no reviews that I can find . Lots of good reviews on the Leica 1600B .
Very few lasers can actually range to the distance the manufacturer claims under great conditions , according to the reviews I've been reading and vids I've been watching but it looks like the Leica 1600B can . My old Bushnell 800 is good for 600 under good conditions ranging 4 foot diameter boulders .
Anybody here have a Newcon or used a Newcon ? I've got the spec sheets but that doesn't tell me much . With $1,000.00 , what would you do and not limited to Leica or Newcon . Very important with good atmospherics it'll do 1500 , 1600 yards . Any comments , any opinions .
