I did a search on here, nothing much.

Does anybody have any user feedback on Newcon LRF's?

Bump. These are Canadian made and 2000m capable, somebody here has got to have one. User feedback is hard to find on these.

They are supposed to fill the gap between the Leica 1600 and the Vectronix terrapin which is no longer made and not cheap.

TiborasaurusRex on youtube uses a Newcon. I'm not sure what one he has though.

From what I remember he likes it.

B&H Photo in the states has good prices on them if your looking to get one.

Last summer I was in the same boat as you and I ended up with a Bushnell elite 1 mile arc. I'm pretty happy with it (for $489 US). It ranges trees out to 1300-1450 yards on a good day.

Thanks Kona, I will check out Tibo and will look at the Bushnell also.

Finding a good 2k rf is such a pain now with the terrapin gone.

I have the Newcon 1200 and this weekend I was able to see what it could do. The max range I was able to get was 1580y of a barn, free hand. Not bad in my books. My only complaint is the size. It would be nice to see them smaller.

Katana what is your overall opinion of it compared to others like Leica or Bushnell?

Has it been reliable? Has it ever failed to read in any conditions? How far out can it range a deer sized animal? How far out can it get a reading on a steel plate? Is it well built with quality parts?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get some solid feedback on this brand of rf.

The only Leica that I've tried was a 1000 and that was only once. It's a nice piece of hardware and the smaller size is preferred but it costs a lot more than the Newcon. I can't speak about the Bushnell. I've owned it for about 4-5 months now and in that time have had limited use with it, haven't ranged any animals yet. It easily can range houses off my balcony at 400+ The clarity is ok and I have not yet tried it at dusk/dawn to see how it preforms but in all honesty I didn't expect super performance optically for the price that they sell at.

My first choice was the Newcon 2200 but when I found this one on the EE I nabbed it as it was going for a great price. Overall I'm happy with it but like I said, I have limited use with it so far. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I have a Newcon LRB 3000. Have ranged animals at 1300 yds. Set up my long range target with one shot at a pickup truck, 2604 yds. I'm happy with it over all, little bulky maybe but I never pack it anyway.

Running a 2200 personally, I like it better than my Swaro 1500. the read out is easier to see, the 2200 is faster acquisition and the optics are similar for clarity. The 2200 is slightly larger but I also do not pack it as a hunting tool.
We stock these normally simply because a decent LRF that has any distance capability is very limited.

I have the Newcon 1500m.

it was only $380 for that kind of cain it work very well. I have ranged over 1600 yards with it.

I generally shoot at targets set up on a pallet, I can range the pallet easily at 500 ro 800 yards.
