Newebie picking powder for 270 & 30-06

my -06 loves IMR 4064 with 165 BTips
my -270 tack drives with H 4350, still shoots well with H 4831- 130s Btips

I agree with above, 4350 or 4831, either flavour.

For what it is worth, the 4350 has a very high flame temperature and erodes barrels faster than 4831. This is noticable in 3006 target rifles, where 4350 lasts two years and 4831 lasts 3.

If you move up to a powder thrower, you will find the SC (Short Cut) powder preferable. May as well start with that now.

H4350 smells better than H4831 or RL-19. H-414 also smells good
