Newer Type 97 NSR-G2

Your numbers are way off. 30 eggs (2.5 dozen) is $6 or $7 at Costco. A big bag of frozen veg is $8-10, not 4, and lasts 4-5 meals feeding a wife and 3 young children....

I'll have to wait and see with one of these. So many reports about feeding issues on the old ones, it seems some people get lucky and others are terrible...

Except I'm not. I live in Burnaby now so I can understand your pov in terms of pricing but I can guarantee you those prices exist. The cost of living in the Greater Van Region is stupid expensive. Only thing cheap is electronics. Costco isn't the end all be all of low prices everyone makes them out to be. But like I said, you're married, nevermind.

It is very 50/50. My friend's shoots fine. My caved in cases on the reg. Next one caved in as well. Contemplating another one since they can be had for $750 new on certain sales.

Burnaby is the best place to live for those that own their home. Just got chicken leg and ribs for less than 2 bucks a pound. All the big supermarkets are competing hard with tons of lost leaders means cheap food. Costco is not cheap.
This reminds me to post a car pool buddy wanted ad for weekday trips to POCO.

$750 v2 would be nice given our pre-order v1 was over a grand. Factory mag on mine is 100% feed, LAR orange follower is close, XCR don't bother.

Had 2 Type 97, one works(ed) very reliably (like 1 jam every 200-300 rounds) second one jammed half of the time. Regret selling the first one thinking the second one would work the same. Really wanted this platform to work it's a handy little rifle.

Anyone got news if the upper is what got updated only? Would anything internally (Especially the feeding system) got updates?

By the way, looks like it comes with KAC back up sights. Was looking for them for a long time.

Wouldn't recommended the T97 to newbies or anyone that just wants a simple, reliable rifle. Mag feeding is just too finicky; don't know if you are getting the wed or sat gun.

I use MFS steel case ammo. 1000 rounds plus, no problems. PMC brass case no problems as well. But I have seen people using Century arms ammo, jammed and crushed.

Do you actually own and use one??

No feeding problem in my T 97 too.

I had heard that early T 97 do had some problem ,but I got the gun one year ago , everything goes fine .

Why do you not list your location. Real simple, remove the tin hat, click on settings, edit profile, type your location beside "location:"

PS: read my prior post.

Is listing location mandatory in CGN forum?? Just curious.

I see your previous post, mostly on food.

My T97 only likes the factory mag. LAR-15 mag not ok. I bought special rail to mount on the carry handle, on it I install a no-name brand 1X red dot sight. Works fine.

It is not a bad gun. I believe it is the cheapest non-restricted semi-automatic 5.56/223 calibre available in the market. Many are selling this at $800 or so. If you know of a cheaper one, let us know.

Without location no idea if you are even in Canada. Perhaps you are one of our US or Aussie friends so local price discussion is meaningless.

Which part of my previous stmt did you not understand? "$750 v2 would be nice given our pre-order v1 was over a grand. Factory mag on mine is 100% feed, LAR orange follower is close, XCR don't bother." Seems you may be fixated on food; nothing wrong with that.

So yes, mine was part of the first wave after waiting almost a yr on the pre-order. A TRS-25 tops mine on T97 custom rail.

My comment stands "Wouldn't recommended the T97 to newbies or anyone that just wants a simple, reliable rifle. Mag feeding is just too finicky; don't know if you are getting the wed or sat gun."
