So I purchased a Remington 700 XCR 2 in January/February and finally got it in my hands last week. I purchased off here from a fellow in Alberta and had my brother in law pick it up for me.

I plan to use it while guiding up north this year and have been anxiously awaiting to try it out.

First thing first was a good cleaning, complete strip down and then sanded the stock sides smoother so that nothing touched from the recoil lug until the 2 rests at the front of the stock. Remington has issues with this it seems, my buddies was horrendously bad.

I left the 2 bumps up front to see how it preformed first with the option to remove if I didn't like the groups (can't put em back but ya can always remove lol).

Installed a Bushnell 4-16x42 with turrets (so it's ready to reach out). I had it laying around and seeing as it's in and out of the boat, planes and what not as well as letting clients shoot it I didn't want my $1800 Ziess sitting on it if you know what I mean....

Anyways back to it. The trigger was far too heavy, xmark pro. It had zero creep but way way to heavy so logically I attempted to adjust it, some have good luck others don't. I certainly lucked out, no issues adjusting and light as a feather now ( i got lucky, figured I would be replacing).

So I loaded up some 150 Noslers with IMR 4831, 2 batches. 63.5grs and 64grs.

Off to the bench. After boresighting by eye, 2 shots with factory ammo and I was close to where it should be and had some fouling. Good enough for starting groups.

63.5gr first groups. 3 shot 1.1 inch, not too shabby a start.

64gr was next, ..... man am I pleased. 3 shot .651 inch as shown in the pic. Looks like that will do! Far too warm out for 5 shot groups and I allowed to cool regardless but I'm not goona push it.

Very happy with the new 7mm mag, can't wait to do some hunting now!

If anyone wants to see a picture of the group pm if u are willing to post it for me, I still can't figure it out using my phone here. Thanks

I’ve had a few xcr2’s as well. A 30-06 that is very accurate. A 300 wsm that wouldn’t eject brass and the bolt handle pulled off in my hands before I even shot it. It shot poorly after I fixed the initial problems. And a 270 win that now has a bartlien barrel.
As with most Remington guns these days, hit or miss...

If you have Facespace, you can upload pictures from your Mybook account. Right click on the image you want, click "copy image address", then go to "insert image" its the one with the little tree in the picture frame. Paste the image address and hit ok. It will automatically produce an inlay code and will be ready for everyone to view it. Don't want people to see it anymore and you can't remember how to sign into your CGN account? No problem just delete the photo from your Facebook account and it will no longer show on this website. I post my photos in an album that only I can view it. Simply because there is friends of friends on my facebook account that are dumber than dirt and hate guns. Plus I don't want to announce it to everyone on Facebook I own a gun.

I don't do the Facebook stuff, not my thing but thanks for the suggestion.

I thought I could just attach a pic, didn't realize I had to have another app or what not to link it to. I'll chalk it up to the fact I'm here more to gain insight about things vs post a bunch. Just happened to be excited about the new purchase and it's groups lol.
