I promised my wife that I had all of the guns that I would ever need. And then I saw this one. I needed this revolver badly and now I am trying to come up with a good story in case she finds out about it.

Secrets are no way to run a marriage, but ultimatums sure are! Tell her she has to love the gun as if it were her own, or you're turning her into a safe queen. ;)

Nice!!!!

I understand your situation!!!!!!

Been there....no fun......

A tactic that has worked for me is to sell one or two (less expensive) guns BEFORE you buy a new and more expensive one. When she sees you are just 'recycling' your collection - NO PROBLEMS!!!!

To avoid this situation completely, I took my wife with me this weekend to buy a pistol. I had her blessing - she liked it too and can't wait to try it out with me!!!!!!

Complete story when it arrives....

Good luck!

Tell her when you saw the gun it reminded you of the first time you saw her (love at first sight)...:D
617 10-shot. You're going to really like it!! I'm working up to buying a 617 6-shot. I already blew the budget and am currently scheming, er, planning for it. ;)

I havn't shot this gun yet. It would be interesting to compare the indexing of the 10 shot to a 6 shot. You would think it would be totally different than the 6 shot in that the trigger would have to break over more quickly.

Shooting my friend's 617 I noticed that the indexing is slightly different but not radically different. I'd say it's almost a non-issue but I still want a six-shot only because it'd be 4 less holes to clean. ;) My friend's 10-shot 617 is a very accurate revolver and it's not too fussy about what it's fed. I was really impressed with it!! :)

I told my wife I'd only get one gun per year, so right now I'm only 26 behind  My wife also has no interest in getting licensed, so legally she has no access to the cabinet anyway, she might notice when the second and third ones show up, though.

All my wife asks is "why do you need another safe"?

I have been told that the following story is true - there will be no names used for obvious reasons. A man takes up PPC, goes off to a shoot on a Saturday, on his way home he buys a pistol. The next week he goes to another match and picks up his new toy on the way home. His wife sees the gun and says "tell me you didn't buy a new gun" guy looks at her and says "no honey, I did really well at the match and won this as a prize" he apparently continued to do really well for the next full year.
