Newest Project - Red Rifle build

308 (for now)

are you talking about the hammer? If so, My Val has a trigger job done, and I can keep the OEM hammer vice this one.

Good, because .223 would require a different gas block angle. I'd definitely suggest you don't use the hammer in the tapco trigger, the americans always use too hard steel in their triggers (ALG has the same problem with their triggers) and they will mess up your carrier.

Cheers for the info. It's somewhat hard to come by parts/info since these projects are rare(ish) or older posts where photobucket doesnt want to work

Yeah man I feel you. I just see a lot of reviews on youtube and I've heard time and time again that the triggers are just way too hard if they're US made, specifically the Tapco G2. I think AK operators union has a video addressing these triggers that may be worth a watch.

I will check those before reassembling everything with the forward trigger

"Soo" many options now... :)

This looks cool though... closer to that "psl" look (wood isn't stained yet - probably will be russian red)

Well that looks interesting! U got the wrong furniture for a PSL look tho, so I'd say go for the galil :)

It's can be close to a PSL though ;). i just need to find the top handguard

the valmet rear receiver stock-screw fks up a lot of plans though... unless i cut in the receiver to make it a vepr/psl end...

This is looking AWESOME! :D You should totally go for a PSL clone! I have plans to do the same in the distant future. Comrade Vlad is right though, you should switch out that foreend for a 2 part PSL looking one; for the gun looks more SVD like than PSL.

Some more inspiration to add to this thread ........

This is a SVT 40 SVD clone project I did way back when i first got into firearms. Her names Natasha :adult:
