After a bout of travelling to warmer climes with my Wife, I came back to a few goodies!! :DD

Firstly, I discovered that my dog can survive under the middle daughters housesitting care and she knows how to unpack parcels and get them in the safe without any knicks!!

My newest short range treestand fire belcher, I know these didn't sell worth a turd but I was still happy to grab a forgotten leftover..... Didn't take the sage advice on illumination but kept it in the family and rocking a German #4....

Range day tomorrow!!!

How did that pre-trip show sneak in there? Oh well...... ;)

Lol that last one go up in the stand with you too?
Edit: holy #### didn't see how short the rifle was! Cool!

Just gonna ignore the weird pics...

Is the rifle a 38-55?

I really like the 405 winchester model prophet river has but the tang sight and crescent buttplate don't do it for me.

the 405 does have a reg rear site too.

Yes but stoked to ruger no 1 levels with a 400 grain bullet and you might get a tang sight in the forehead and a crescent buttplate shaped indent where your shoulder used to be.

Slip on pad for the brute loads on the bench.... besides that she be a whole lot of nothing, here is a mockup and beside my CZ 550 .375.... Good Gawd I love me Revolvers & Rifles!! Bench time cures all.....

I love those Leupold 1-4x and 1.5-5x straight-tube scopes, and have them sitting on several rifles. Except for lowest light conditions, they are great hunting scopes. I've never seen one look so huge on a gun before! That is one cute little spud of a rifle. :) Does it have a reduced length of pull or is it a full-length buttstock?

Looking forward to the range results.

45-70 and quite nice with the irons until my old eyes start to fail me to a certain degree...... Stay tuned, VX-3i 1-5x 20mm range day about to happen in the next day or two...

Dirk

I put Firesights on all my levers, and they are pretty good even with old eyes. Just line up the 3 blurry dots with the blurry target and squeeze. Must be air pollution or something, but everything is getting blurry, or it's a Liberal or Freemason plot.

Papaclaude, the air pollution is getting thick at my place as well...I have the same problem! :)

I'm liking the look of this little gun more and more, but I can't help but think it needs an octagonal barrel...and then I start to think about the old octagon B78 in .45-70 I have in the safe...and how easy it would be to have it trimmed down to 18.5 inches...and then I check my collection of bits'n'pieces to confirm that I have a bunch of assorted front sights to search through for the proper height...and then I remember the Skinner peep I have that fits that rifle...and I realize that I will then have a new-to-me rifle just for the cost of a barrel cut/crown...

Will someone please #####-slap me back to reality? I don't need to do this...but I want to! :)
