Newly approved NR SPC9 from B+T !!!

:-/

Should see if BT can add a few inches to faux suppressor and barrel to this....

Something like this -

Would look better with a longer handguard to cover up more of the faux suppressor.
I’m still trying to see the advantage of this over the GHM9 though

It only took 1.5 years to get the NR approval but it is finally done! Shorty boi's and longer NR models will be available, get your order in today !! Details on the configurations below!

Hot damn, those are good looking rifles.

Very SIG MPX ish.

Ghm9 has single side front charge handle that is reciprocating and swappable left to right. It has a hydraulic buffer in the bolt. It has 2 un contained springs that actualt the action. The receiver sits above your control hand slightly farther back then on an APC9.

SPC9 has a folding front side charge handle that is swappable from left to right only it is Non recepricating. It also has a rear AR charge handle .The bolt and handguard are slimmer with integrated qd spots, forward assist serations on the bolt. The receiver ends farther forward then a GHM9 like on a APC. The biggest difference is the buffer system. It is bigger, it also sits inside the receiver and protrudes out of the receiver where the bufffer tube would normally be. The SPC9 when disassembled has less parts because instead of a retaining bolt and retained action spring like on a APC9K or apc9 pro, the SPC9's buffer replaces the action spring.

Boss laid it out pretty well in post 57. There’s a few YouTube videos on the fundamentals as well that are useful.

I wasn't super excited about this platform at first and was in the same boat as alot of people on this thread. I kind of just thought ghm9 looking apc with an AR charge handle.
The more I delved into it the more interesting it became to me. The buffer is much larger then the apc and apparently people do notice a lighter recoil. Not that it matters at all in 9mm.
The gun seemed like a novelty at first when it was just designed for a special military tender. The traction it got made me change my mind. And the looks tbh lol

Does anybody know what action it has specifically? It seems like "delayed" is not being used in the sense where there is any mechanism keeping the action in place during the initial firing of the cartridge. From what little I can find this is a straight-blowback gun with a hydraulic buffer..?

That is correct. It is not a delayed blowback per say. It has the same style buffer as the apc or ghm9 esque

The buffer seems to have a curved pressure so at the far point of compression the pressure increases and still has stroke. Seems like this is how the action is delayed.
Compared to the ghm9/APC buffers which have a flat compresion curve, maintaining consistant pressure through the whole stroke.

Same principal

That is just a fancy way of saying straight-blowback. I know the buffer system in the GMH is very effective at dampening recoil but I was hoping this thing had a true delay system. Doesn't really make me want one less but it's a bit disappointing.

Isn’t 1.5 years for an approval insanely fast? I always thought it was 3-4 years..

Hopefully the SPC 223 follows a similar timeline

In the GHM9 and APC the buffer only makes contact to slow the action at the end of the stroke. The SPC9 bolt makes contact with the buffer the whole stroke because it is also the action spring.

Same here...while I like this, not sure if it's worth the almost extra $2k over the GHM9 (don't really need an aimpoint)

I actually saw an interview with a B&T employee recently since this SPC9 announcement that mentioned California compliant guns that they were making to look like the SD guns. It might actually be a possibility.
