Newly arrived M14s Norinco or Poly?

Gotta love the encyclopedia any whacko can edit!

I'm very intrigued with these latest M14s... although johnone's use of 'salvaged' and 'brand new guns' worries me a bit. Salvaged from being scrapped as new full-autos? If so, why scrap new guns? OR, Used and meant to scrap but salvaged to franken-build 'brand new guns'?

I could be way off but johnone's post leads me to infer that these are quite different than the ones they brought in and of course I'm speculating but perhaps the quality isn't equal to the ones they brought in before and consequently passed on this lot. This could explain why other dealers are getting them in but they aren't (by choice?).

Will this keep me from getting one at the current prices? Hmm...

ABALAS;
I am at a loss for words after all those compliments....

Seriously, I don't mean to come accross as a mean SOB, I simply appreciate it when folks "do their homework" in this case please do not take as fact or truth what you read on the web.... It is so simple and easy to get more rhumours started....

Regards
John

I just like the fact that you are well informed and you manage to put an end to a lot of useless speculations about all kinds of things

OK ALREADY; The recent batch of M14s is very difefrent than the ones we brought in....
They salvaged full auto guns (Also Chinese) , strip them down, then using new receivers reassembled them, caming up with "brand new guns".

I think what john is tring to say is , to legally sell this batch they need to swap out the full auto receiver, with a semi only receiver.

FWIW, Poly Technologies, Inc. is still in business. The web site for China Poly Group Corporation has an organizational chart showing Poly Technologies, Inc. as one of four major subsidiaries of the China Poly Group Corp.

Poly Technologies started in 1984 but China Poly Group was formed in 1993 as the super-corporation over Poly Technologies. Google "China Poly Group" and you'll find the corporate web site.

well Im not so edumicated, so Im buying one too-more-ah! with a load of surplus. Let ya know later if anyone still cares :)

Let me enter into the fray LOL. I know a guy whose whole family back in china work for... Wait for it.... Poly technologies. So the company does exist LOL
Now I'm not going to worry about how these rifles came to be BUT I'll tell you what I do know.
I make a full time business trouble shooting, repairing and customizing all semi auto models of the chinese m14.
The only unknown for me at this point is the hardness qualities of the recent poly rifles. Casual observation tells me this. The new poly's headspace a couple thou tighter and that's about it. Otherwise, it's like asking
Which tracker is better the chevy or the geo.
If I had to choose I'd take a Johnone/marstar 399 banana wood stocked norc over a "bell lifestyles" plastic clad poly at 500 plus.
