Newly manufactured chinese sks's feesable?

Somehow I believe that the current SKS prices are not real, mostly caused by the sudden high demand and shortage of everything else.

When, if it will happen, everything comes back to normal, we will see SKS prices come back down. There are so many of them out there, and they are not the best semi-auto rifles. People will eventually stop panic buying, or be able to buy other rifles, and will sell the SKS's.

Find another reliable centre fire semi under $800 ....

even a hi-point 9mm is in the $500 ballpark.

Id say theres 4 to 5 times as many sks as there is ar15s in canada. Every other police bust photo features sks's and not added to recent ban list for a reason. They cant afford to buy them all back!

Those Australian (aia) enfields did sell well. What happened was, they were using some Chinese or Vietnamese steel for the barrells I believe. And their biggest market...the usa saw that and it was on the do not import commie list. So their biggest customer dried up over night.

No, they did not. I was on the fence and watched prices. Many dealers had to give discounts to get rid of them. Once sold out, prices started to rise slowly and now people want insane amounts of money for them.

Talking about fresh production run of a milsurp rifle is, by definition, an oxymoron: milsurp exists only because they were originally EXPENSIVE to begin with. They would only be MORE expensive today.

due to uncertainty with the Liberal government agenda, not many Canadian importer will risk committing to enough numbers that will entice a Chinese factory to make a another run.

Even if the machining is ready, they would be unlikely to commit to any manufacturing. There are other, more cost effective runs they could do. I can't see them being able to get it to market sub 1200$. Plus markets are closed off, Canada being one of the last remaining ones......and perhaps not for long.

You are correct. SKS are not stamped, they are expensive to make. That's why I am looking for unfired (I mean really unfired), basically brand new Russian ones which are out there and so undervalued. Already have 2 of them, they look freakin new. I also have beaters and enjoy improving those and making them shoot and look nice since I will not fire the new ones, lol.

I had a type 81 and the accuracy to the SKS is similar using the same ammo. I am only using surplus, I like cleaning (not even joking).

Why do people say they would be 1200 wasnt the m305/m14 machined for the most part at around 600 bucks for many years..as well as the norinco ar15. Take a look at many airsofts buld new on the same assembly lines and converted to airsoft for around 500 retail. Like the real sword type 56. I baught type 81s but felt we were being gouged on them non the less. Its hard to really know what it costs exactly machined or stamped or forged.

I henuinely don't know this but perhaps the M14 was designed to be forged not milled? Nb: I may be misunderstanding milled and forged

Straight to the end,, are we really thinking that supporting a Chinese arms mfg is a good idea, didn’t every Canadian politician in the house with a backbone condemn China for its genocide of its own people? ##### that, everything I buy now I look for place of mfg. Better wtfu
Trudeau, no backbone, mysteriously absent

John one let it slip that there are lots of chinese sks still in cold storage , but that they wanted alot more money from the importer for the sale

Lol wait till you find out about the Middle East

Why would anybody want a newly manufactured SKS that would easily top $1500 and still be inferior in workmanship and quality? There are plenty of quality SKS's circulating in the market, no need for new mass-produced garbage.
