next hunting rifle?

well i know alot of us own alot of guns. i am up to 9 my self and i am only 22. i only have 1 big game rifle. parkerhale 30-06. its shoots well but has seen better days. i will be in the market for a new rifle soon. not for this fall but probly in the new year.

here is what i want next.
CZ 550 kevlar carbine 30-06.
topped with a ziess conquest 3-9x40

i have a few CZ rimfires and they are great guns. IMO. i also like the CRF of the cz550 action. the irons are great as well. all my guns are wood stocked so i would like to try the kevlar

whats your next hunting rifle going to be? or just one you want. and why
 
Next hunting rifle I'm lusting for is somewhat of a compromise. I originally wanted a Sako 85, but hard too hard of a time justifying the price when the Tikka rifles shoot as well as the do.

So long story short...

Tikka T3 in 338 Win Mag (never be undergunned in North America)
Topped with either a Nikon Monarch 4-16 or a Ziess

And if funds allow, one of those really sharp looking stocks from prophet river with the green and black webbing look.

All that still wouldn't be the price of a bare bones Sako!

Do you actually hunt all of NA? :D :p

Personally for our tiny island deer often seen within 200 meters I have gone back to the old reliable iron sighted 30/30 in one action type or another, launching tsx or leverlution bullets. :)
 
i dont think i need another hunting rifle. i already have rifle chambered in 308, 44mag, 357mag, 223, and 22lr. i can take anything in north America with these.
 
I know I do not"need"another hunting rifle however I am probably going to buy another one either a Marlin 1895 45 70 to replace one I sold to a good friend or a 375HH because I want one. I have not needed another rifle since my Dad gave me my first rifle his 30 06. I shot my friends 338 Tikka last year,very nice rifle.
 
Either a cz 550 in 9.3x62 in the Kevlar stock and 20" barrel or a zastava in the same caliber or a Ruger Alaskan. I got time to think about it.....

Just going to upgrade my stuff I got maybe order another mcmillian or two a barrel and maybe some new scopes. Not to many off the shelf rifles tickle my fancy right now.
 
I might need a new Cooper Varminter 308 with a 6.5X20X50 Zeiss scope, you never have enough 308 and Zeiss scope... JP.
 
A Volquartsen Evolution in either 223, or 204Ruger for coyotes, and wolves..Leupold of course...

X2, 2 Kriegers on the way, Stock blanks ready for milling.

The only gun on the rack that peaks my interest is a Browning BAR Safari in some thing like .243 or .257.
 
Not really sure if I will take up hunting but I'd like to try it. I'm enjoying my Ruger Mark 2 Target .308 but it will be a bit heavy if I take it to hunt.

I'd like to get a 30-06 some day and pass it down to the kids. I'd like it in walnut and blued steel. I handled a Winchester 70, Browning X bolt and Sako 85. Haven't shot any of them. The Winchester Supergrade felt pretty nice. The Sako wood was FANTASTIC.

Not for a while though. I'm sure my Ruger will do me fine for a first trip.
