i already have a very nice m-14
but i would suggest that if you really want one then buy the next one that shows up on E Exchange or find one somewhere else. that boat may never arrive.. or even worse you could end up without a semi-auto and the laws could change.
there has been way to much talk about how expensive the m-14's are getting. well its all about supply and demand. how much are you paying for your gasoline? now mine is bedded in a boyds laminate,gas system has been shimmed and national match sights front and back. add the gen 3 scope mount with a leupold clone. throw in half a dozen magazines and 1000+ rounds of ball ammo, what have you got ??
well over a grand..
if you want one -- get one, but if you want to whine about the price then just go and buy yourself a 710 or stevens 200

The supply of these rifles is finite. If you want one or two, whatever, its probably best to get them while you can. Without the US market, it isn't likely that they will be put back into series production. The rifles have tack welded flash hiders, deleted bayonet lugs and US import markings because the parts were for rifles originally intended to be sold in the US. The import ban came into effect years ago when Clinton was President. When the well runs dry, folks will be talking about the good old days.....
I've learned to put my order in way early (like right after they ran out), kick back and relax. They'll get here when they do. Worrying about it, bugging John and the guys, having a thread like this that will probably run 10 pages before anything shows up, does nothing to get them here sooner. The ones in control are China, then customs. John will then have to inventory and inform the CFC before the first rifle goes out the door. He and the staff do a great job.........once he's got them.
