Next Revolver Purchase?

Here's mine. It's a 686 no dash with 106mm barrel. Just showed up in the mail. Only 100 rounds through the barrel but I think that's gonna change pretty quick.

A few of my revolvers: 1875 Remington, S&W Schofield, Swedish Nagant, Webley WG, 1873 Colt SAA

These are all very accurate antique shooters, most with a martial providence, and all can be shot off range.

JP…I owned one when the first came out. They're built like a shyt brick house but when it come to "Looks" I still prefer my Smiths.

Can argue with that but this Redhahk have to come to my herd beside my Model 29 / 627 - 8 times / SP 101 357 / SBH 44 10.5 inch / 617 22 LR... It will sit well with them... JP.:)

What do you think about the s&w 617 22lr for steel challenge? I find that the reliability of a revolver is excellent compare to pistols in 22lr. My 9mm pistols are outstanding for IPSC. But in 22lr, they jam and are ammo sensitive.. I own a buckmark and cz conversion kit. But I am wondering about the pull trigger. Is it possible to get a good trigger pull job in Canada on a revolver? Have you seen guys competing with revolvers?

Thanks for your help

For some reason I'm "lusting" for S&W to add a 4.2" blued model 14 to their "Classic" line in the future. I bought one of the new model 25 .45LC's and it needs a little buddy.

JP…you already have a .44 in your collection. What you really need is a S&W Performance Center 625 (45ACP):)

Perhaps but those 350 rounds of HSM 305 gr WFN 44 mag, i got from a past deal, could hurt one of my S&W, i was recommended a Redhawk for absolute piece of mind, solidity wise... JP.

Just to update....

After giving it some thought i decided I'd really prefer to go with an interesting (to me) older gun rather than new as my next acquisition. I really prefer either blued or a bright finish (maybe nickle?) over the bead blasted matte look of a lot of today's guns.. With that in mind I posted a WTB on the EE saying i was interested in things like S&W 1917 Government,27,25,28, Victory etc etc and Colt models like Officers Match, 1917, New Service or Trooper.

I think I'd like to keep it in either .38 .357 or .45acp as I stock those calibers now. I don't reload and I really don't want to have to either hunt for oddball calibers like .455 or .38S&W or spent the $$ for .44 Magnum. A .22 is a possibility but I find I tend to shoot my centre fire pistols much more than the two .22 pistols I have and wonder if it might be the same case with a .22 revolver.

Seems like S&W and Colt really owned the revolver market in the 20th century. Am I missing anything or anybody?

A 45ACP is on my list too, just because. Not terribly common, it seems, and the ones made today are prohib length for some short sighted reason.

I have a S&W 27 with a 6" barrel. I bought it about 5 years ago for $575 plus tax from The Gun Room in Waterloo. I have had some of the newer S&W's in my hand and the quality is not the same as this one. One of the gents that shoot at the range with me bought one of the 9mm PC S&W revolvers; it was not a nicely put together as the 625 that he had that was probably 10-15 years old ( he was disappointed).
