next years hunt

Well so far this year I have only hunted maybe sixty or seventy days. Last year it was closer to ninety. This year it was one nice mule deer buck in BC, a bunch of Canada Geese in eastern Ontario, and a "button buck" with the bow. Nada with the rifle (two weeks) or shotgun (one week) in our Ontario seasons. Eighteen days until the season ends..........

So NEXT YEAR I am going to stop wearing this Deer Repellent.

This winter I intend to give predator hunting a go- coyotes, mainly. I've never been a dedicated coyote or wolf hnter, just targets of opportunity, so this year I'll see what it's all about.:D

Next spring I hope to host BIGREDD and maybe Daryl on a Vancouver Island black bear hunt...

Then in the fall, I intend to organizea flyin trip for sheep. After misisng that big ram this year..I just have to go try again...;)

I'm already trainign for the trip...:(

Next year I am going to TRY to go back to the Yukon for another moose hunt. :D

Buy my guns F/S to help fund the trip.......... Flight alone will be upwards to $2K

2006 is going to be the year of my once in a life time hunt - buffalo in Tanzania.

My 602 is almost ready, but I have to send it out for just one more round of tweaking. I ordered a Talley peep sight/ghost ring for it - I know they don't make one for the 602 - so ordered the one for the Marlin and I'll have it glued 'n screwed in place.

My gunsmith has to do a little inventing and make a filler behind the trigger guard. In rapid fire my hand slides up to the top of the pistol grip and the knuckle of my middle fingure gets a nasty smack when the piece recoils. I'm going to get a second scout scope - this time a Leupold - the one I've been using is a 20 year old Burris. Both scopes will be in Talley QD rings, so if something happens to one, it can easily be replaced with the other....cheap insurance for an adventure of this scale.

My loads are ready - 300 gr.TSX and 286 gr PMP solids (thankyou Johann22).

The wife's getting a new camera lens for Christmas (70-200 stabalized) so she can record the event. Good thing she never looks at these posts!

Only 202 days to go!!
