Niagara Pensinsula Dunville M14 Clinic Sunday 22 Feb 2015- DeBrief HERE!

YES bring your Garand(s) along. I can multitask. Any rebarrel projects out there? I can bring a .308 finish reamer in a pull through setup for your rebarreling dreams for your M1 or M14 type rifle.

RaYdiation, I see your EMT in my email inbox. Will get that sorted out.

Cheers,
Barney

I hope this isn't going to disappoint a lot of people, but I would like to know what's involved first. Also, my car is a sports coupe, doesn't have a lot of room to carry my equipment.

Good thing I checked the post again. I had the date marked for the Saterday. For a while I thought that I made a mistake thinking it was for the 21rst haha, but know I see the date has been changed. Sunday works for me. I also have a front sight that's canted to the right. I hope we will be able to correct that as well. Looking forward to the clinic!!
Cheers
Andy

I'm still planning on renting a car (wife needs the car with the childseats) and leaving from Toronto if anyone wants to carpool...

Will we be able to check head spacing at the clinic?

Also, for indexing, possible to do from an accuracy standpoint, not just for straightening the front sight?

Are here any openings left?

Lots of room for you. We will get lots of flash suppressors pounded off and barrel indexing done. We even have a barrel job to get done. How awesome is that?

Bring on the pre-clinic questions. We always have fun at these clinics. It's my stress relief! :)

Cheers, Barney

So I tried to rearrange my weekend with no avail.

If anyone is zipping by my house I will send along half a dozen bolt roller greasers o be given away at the clinic.

They can also be picked up tonight or Saturday.

Please pm me if you go by the (very) east end of Hamilton and can pic them up.

I've yet to shoot by M305 (bought it used) is it possible to fire a round at the clinic so I'll have brass to measure?

I bet Hungry can tell you the head space without a brass. that said, there is a league shoot at the club on sunday , so , no, the range will be closed to us.

Yes we should be able to test fire in the afternoon after our final re-assembly (after tweaking of course). Yes I can / will measure your fired brass just to confirm that your Norinco headspace is likely the average of the typical 15 thousandths like all the other Norinco rifles in years (since 2002). No big deal.

We just built a SAI rifle a few weeks ago and confirmed that his headspace was 2 thou to 3 thou above the 1.630" SAAMI go gauge. That was this morning. :)

We were using a newish TRW barrel and TRW bolt! Life is good!

I'm just packing up the tools now since we will have a re-barrel job and will carry on the finish reaming with a pull through reamer at the clinic.

Yes, ensure you bring all the allen keys you can find around your house. A wooden block or two. If someone has a couple of end cuts of a 2 x 4 stud or two or three, that's fine! We will put them blocks to use! Hammering and all that fun! Wooden mallet or TWO ? Dead blow hammer/ Ball peen hammer?

Cheers!
