I moved to Hamilton recently, and am looking to get back in to trap. When I lived in London I really enjoyed the interclub trap league they'd run in the winter, but it seems a bit far to drive weekly in the winter to participate. Is there anything like it towards Niagara? Short of that, do any clubs have regular trap nights, and are open to new members? I see a few different clubs who advertise they have trap shooting, but that doesn't mean people actually do it regularly...

Thanks!

Hamilton Gun Club (near Stoney Creek). Continually operating for 144 years.

Great people. Beautiful facilities. A very active membership. Multiple trap, skeet ranges. Leagues, competitions and open shooting. Easy to get to. Lots of parking. Etc.

Looks good! How is Silverdale? I like the option of long rifle too, but that only would be a couple times a year.

I believe you can “walk in” at Silverdale. They don’t really do organized trap or skeet shooting. I don’t go there anymore. I didn’t feel good there…too busy. Maybe a couple times a year would be okay. It may have changed, it’s been 3 years since I was last there.

Hamilton Gun Club is a first class operation. Great facilities and staff. The Board and President are excellent.
It is a shotgun only range, as you noted. There is also an active bow section.

Go visit! Or maybe call and arrange a tour.

"walk on" at Silverdale? really? day passes are back on the menu?

that got scrapped what, 6+ years ago? but if they're doing that again it would be awesome !

NRSGC is on the same road as Silverdale and they have a dedicated range for trap/sporting clays. Good club. You just have to keep an eye on the website for when they're accepting applications.

That’s why I said it may have changed since I was last a Member.

Im a member at the Hamilton Gun Club and have been since the 1970’s … FANTASTIC CLUB !!!! As mentioned skeet, trap, archery, sporting clays area that will become a 5-stand this spring. They hold provincial and national trap championships.Open for membership.

HAHA offers trap, skeet, archery, rifle and pistol but they have had a quota on membership. I was a member there many years ago. Visit both clubs on a nice weather day (Sunday) and get a feel for it. Either way its a win win situation for you.

Niagara Regional sportsman Has a Short course sporting clays on Sundays . Guests only for the second round at 1030
Crowland conservation has trap on weekend . Montrose and Yokum rd area Best to call the club and check
Fort Erie Has shoots on Sunday and allows guests Dunville has shoots Tuesday nights (summers only?) and Sundays I believe

I agree that Hamilton is a great club. The orientation, organization, and facilities are really good, and the people are super-friendly. They have skeet, trap and sporting clays. Check the website for hours.

not to belabour the point, ...but ARE there any clubs that do day passes anywhere in the Hamilton-Lincoln area ?
mainly looking for rifle-friendly ranges.
