Nice 100 yard group

By all means, I am not here to ruffle any feathers but, I did give an honest try at 100 yard 22LR shooting just before I left Alberta.
Using an okay rifle (ES350B Mauser single shot .22) and a good scope (Weaver T-10) a very good friend of mine, (Silverback) punched an awesome 3/4 inch group, with proven ammo. (PMC Moderators) Of course no wind, off the bench.

This kind of performance, is not easy by ANY means.
And as we all know, there are far better, target rifles out there.
Most rifles that are capable of this, or better, are not semi-automatic rifles.

Maybe Ski911's rifle is heavily (read expensively!) moded?

I've always like Moderators

Thank you :) ;)

Regarding "lucky groups" I think we all have them once in a while. I get the odd group with my CZ around the 1/2" range at 100 yards. While the chances are smaller with a 597 (especially smaller with a 597 :D) it can happen. On a regular basis definately not but I think its safe to say it can happen once every so often.

I've always like Moderators, very even and consistent rim dimensions, and subsonic just seems to fly well out to 100.

Agreed; I one time shot a 239 - 8X at 50m with Moderators out of my 541S Remington. I was tickled pink!! Couldn't duplicate it quite, but always respectable. Regards, Eagleye.

First off, that was a great grouping in the OP.

Second, we've never done a "BS" call on another's groupings so far as I can remember...so why start now? After all, the Postal Matches are done on the honour-basis! :)

That having been said, if you ever hear someone post of 100-yard dime-sized groups with a stock Henry AR-7, you might not want to buy any bridges from 'em! :p

Posted these groups along with the rifle in the Rimfire pics thread. I have to agree that repeatability of groupings is what makes a firearm consistently accurate. Even with the same ammunition from day to day the same top performance is difficult to duplicate. These are all 100m groups for 10shots.
Group under the dime was shot Dec 7/08(day of infamy!). The others were shot in one range session in Oct or Nov I don't recollect. Bottom left group on the board is 5 shots. Ran out of batch.
Remington 40x was the launch pad
