Nice block for the bench

How about some matching shell/pilot holders as well.

I machined this one after knocking a bunch of 45-70 charged cases over while in a cheap plastic tray. I wanted somthing deeper and had this block laying around.

Yup, I am very happy with a $5.00 tray. Makes no sense, IMHO, to spend more on a mundane reloading item. Might as well blow your money on a gold-plated muffler for your car.

Look's great!
How much?

I would not even want to put a price on that 45/70 block. The only reason I have it is the material was left over from another job and and I have access to the equiptment. If I can remember right, i put 2 or 3 hours into it just playing around and trying to get the finish I wanted. This is the kind of thing that unless you have the equiptment and know how or a good friend who does would be a huge wast of money. All it cost me was a little time.

Also the way I think, altough even 5$ seems expensive to me.
Here is what I use:

foam from winchester pistol ammo and top of redding die box

if it is sarcasm:
what, because there is a Norinco manual and a couple shreds of paper it makes it a dirty environment?

if it was genuine:
thanks I also find it pretty clean

I was joking. My bench tends to get cluttered up. I think I need to build a couple of shelves or something.

That's cool too. Where did you get the stock?

By the looks of the material and the chips in the picture it is UHMW (Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene). Very easy to machine.
You might be able to find some at places like Metal Supermarkets and I have even seen it at Forest City Surplus.

My friend was thinking of making nice aluminum ones like that at work now that he's getting into reloading. I could never see spending any money on those plastic ones and just took a board of MDF and drilled 250 something 5/8" holes in it. That way I can do relatively "high volume" reloading on my single stage.

Pretty sure its UHMWP..the stock could be a little wider..he has mountains of this stuff..
